27.08.2009 The Roerichs and Tver Region

The Roerichs and Tver region, a cultural and educational programme dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Nicolas Roerich’s and Helena Shaposhnikova’s first meeting was held in the town of Bologoe, 363 km north-west of Moscow, from August 22 to August 23, 2009. The programme was organized by a regional Roerich organization in Tver and the community of the town of Bologoe under the auspices of the Roerichs International Centre and it was visited by the representatives from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Ivanovo, Voronezh, Bezhetsk, Bologoe and Tver.

26.08.2009 Exhibition of Roerich’s Reproductions Held in Riga Duma

On the initiative of the Latvian Department of the Roerichs International Centre an exhibition of reproductions of Nicolas Roerich’s paintings was organised in the foyer of the Riga Duma building from June 25 to August 17. The opening of the exhibition coincided with a new session of the Riga Duma after the regular local elections had been held.

The publishing house of the Roerichs International Centre has issued the letters of Helena Roerich, volume 9 and the Works of the United Scientific Centre for Cosmic Mentality Problems, volume 2.

19.08.2009 Russia-India-Tibet Festival Opens in Moscow

The Nicholas Roerich Museum opened on August 15 an international art festival Russia-India-Tibet that was visited by a delegation of Buddhist monks from the largest Tibetan monastery Drepung Goman Datsan.

On June 28, Irina Antonova, director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts gave an interview to a reputable radio station Eho Moskvi in a programme Museum Chambers where she spoke about the work of the museum. It is hard to find a person in Moscow who could put in doubt great achievements of Antonova concerning the development of the museum work. That is why we were simply shocked by false information about the Nicholas Roerich Museum made public by Antonova.

02.07.2009 Travelling Exhibition of Roerichs’ Paintings Arrives in Brest

The Brest Museum of Regional Studies, the Belarusian Department of the Roerich International Centre and the Nicholas Roerich Museum have organized an exhibition of paintings by Nicholas Roerich and Svetoslav Roerich called A Secret Country which is exhibited in the Museum of Regional Studies in Brest, Belarus, from June 25 to September 13, 2009.
